Abstract
Some physical characteristics of zirconium-niobium alloys have been studied. Specific points of the Zr-Nb phase diagram have been accurately determined. TTT curves have been obtained for alloys ranging from 10 to 25% Nb.
The tensile and creep rupture properties have been measured. The corrosion resistance in water and steam has been estimated. An alloy with 17.5% Nb showed particularly favourable properties in comparison to zircaloy-2.
