Abstract

The pulse height defect of large gold Silicon surface barrier. The average detectors for fission fragments was evaluated. pulse height of the difference spectrum (difference between light and heavy fragment pulse) was used as an absolute energy point. With this calibration the pulse height defects of the average light and heavy fragment pulses and of the average sum pulse were determined. These measurements were made for the thermal neutron induced fission of U235.
Also α particles from U234 and from a thorium source were used for calibration and the resulting PH defects for fission fragments are compared with the values obtained by the previously described method.
