Abstract
The amount of excited configurations in nuclear wave functions is considered in the Hartree-Fock approximation. It is further shown that the f-wave nucleon decay of 9Be* (2.43 MeV) is difficult to interpret as a measure for the f-state admixture, due to the uncertainty in the degree of intermediate coupling.
