Abstract
We have shown that AET penetrates normal and cancerous tissues of mice with ease and without distinction. Even though AET afforded the same protection against radiation damage to cancer and normal tissues, it was possible, under special experimental conditions, to prolong greatly the survival of mice implanted with Landschütz ascites cells by administering AET prior to X-irradiation.
We have also found that from 10 to 30 % of the mice protected by the combined administration of AET, gluthatione and serotonin, prior to the exposure to an X-ray dose of 2000 r, were still alive after 30 days.
