The author describes the progress realized since 1953 in the agricultural research due to the nuclear energy. Radioisotopes are used on the one hand as tracers for studies in the field of plant physiology, animal physlology, entomology and
pedology ; on the other hand as ionizing radiation sources in the field
of plant genetics and food preservation. The author defines the application of radioisotopes used in Belgium for agricultural research.
