Abstract

With the ambition to contribute to the safe, secure and peaceful use of nuclear technologies, SCK-CEN is submitting this application to IAEA for obtaining the ICERR designation. By opening up a variety of research reactors, ancillary facilities and our Academy for Nuclear Science & Technology to the IAEA Member States, SCK-CEN is willing to contribute to International Sustainable Development of Nuclear Applications and to Safeguards to Prevent Nuclear Proliferation. A comprehensive description of our facilities and activities accompanied by a selfassessment is the backbone of the application. The request is also strengthened by statements from our Governmental Authorities. This application and the associated review mission should result in the enlargement and enrichment of the IAEA portfolio of designated International Centres.
