    Abstract

In a PWR nuclear power plant the steam generator plays an important role in the generation process, whereas the pressurizer rather acts as a control device for security purposes. Nevertheless, from a thermodynamical point of view, the two subsystems behave basically in the same way. Thus common set of basic equations is described, from which a specific simulation model for each component is derived. A numerical illustration of the behaviour of the two devices for typical inputs to the derived simulation model is pictured.
