N2 - This Special Issue (SI) presents a series of geological and geochemical research studies conducted in the framework of Nagra's exploratory campaign, which included, among others, the drilling of a series of deep boreholes in northern Switzerland between 2019 and 2022. The SI represents the first stage of a geoscientific synthesis that will be further elaborated in the coming few years with the integration of ancillary data sets, such as borehole logs and the results of hydrodynamic models.
