The objectives of the DIANA workshop were thus to bring together scientists and engineers from various countries that are developing nano-strengthened steels for nuclear applications and discuss available results, possibly to define paths forward. The workshop comprised of three keynote talks (by P. Dubuisson, A. De Bremaecker and B. Kazimierzak) and five plenary sessions: Fabrication. Mechanical Properties. Welding and Coolant Compatibility. Microstructure. Irradiation effects. Contributions in this special issue are from Europe, South-Korea, Japan, Russia and the US. The issue contains 26 journal papers and one editorial contribution by IAEA.
