Abstract
In the unicellular alga Acetabularia mediterranea, the percentage of abnormal caps is about ten times higher in the enucleated than in the whole plants. Moreover we observed the same cap's anomalies which were described in the literature for plants treated with puromycine, actinomycine, PEA, or FUDR. We present an hypothesis on the probable cause of this abnormal morphogenesis.
