Abstract

In the last five year programme much effort was devoted to obtain evidence and tools for understanding and describing the in situ behaviour of a clay host rock under the conditions expected to prevail in a final HLW repository field. The efforts, experimental and theoretical developments improving our perception of the responses of a clay host rock when submitted to the construction, operation and loading of a HLW-repository are commented here.
