    Abstract

Summary: Analytical methods practical for air pollution are discussed. Emission spectrography, neutrond activitation, X-ray fluorescence, and atomic absorption are described, with their application to the determination of metals in airborne particulate. Colorimetric, conductrimetic, coulometric, flame photometric and infrared absorptiometric pollution monitoring instuments are described. The practical methods for the estimation of SO2, NOx, CO, O3 and hydrocarbons are given.
