    Abstract

The decay of 62 min Sn128 separated from products of U235 thermal neutron fission and of its daughter 10.8 min Sb128 was studied by γ and β-ray spectrometry and by γ-γ and β-γ coincidence measurements. The 62 min Sn128 decay shows γ-rays at 44 ± 1 keV, 72 ± 2 keV, 497 ± 6 keV and 570 ± 10 keV, and β-rays at ≈ 0.70 and 0.80 MeV. The 10.8 min Sb128 decay shows γ-rays at 320 ± 3 keV, 754 ± 10 keV (2γ-rays) and 1070 ± 20 keV in coincidence with a β-ray at 2.45 MeV. Other β-transitions deduced from γ-ray intensities are discussed, and a decay scheme is proposed. Gamma rays of adjacent Sn and Sb isotopes are presented but have not been further investigated.
