Abstract
Recently there has a been a high interest in the field addressing the health risk of low dose radiation from environmental or medical circumstance. Highly specialized regions of the brain such as the hippocampus are responsible for cognition and information processing; impairments to this area undergoing maturation have been reported to lead to mental retardation and cephalic disorders. At the molecular level there is an indication that radiation can inhibit neuron migration as well as eliminating neuron populations. These disturbances are what can give rise to abnormal morphologies. One European initiative, The DoReMi consortium, is concerned with low dose risk research in Europe. The investigators at DoReMi are looking at animal in vivo experiments with a hope to understand the biological consequences of radiation exposure between
