Abstract
The ordered Au5Mn2 alloy is studied using high resolution electron microscopy. Structure images at different focus and for different thicknesses all exhibit white dots. Structure image calculations allow to establish the correspondence between the elongated white dots and the strings of manganese pairs. Using this image code, a detailed analysis of the translation boundaries as well as orientation boundaries, can be made.
