Abstract
A detailed Monte Carlo model was developed for the calculation of neutron- and gamma-induced currents in mineral insulated cables. Dedicated calculations for selected cables in selected environments were carried out in order to investigate the influence of key parameters on the induced currents. As the concomitant induced voltages depend on the insulation resistance of the cables, the radiation and temperature dependence of the insulation resistance is also studied.
