Abstract
A study is made of the behavior in the environment of tritium wastes in various chemical forms in gaseous or liquid effluents. The main accent is on the transfer of tritium in the constituents of the ecosystems and on the metabolism of this radionuclide in certain links of the food chain of humans. It appears in particular that: the behavior of the tritium in vegetable matter is similar for exposure to the vapor or to tritiated water; the time that the tritium is in the ground conditions the exposure of the rest of the ecosystem of the soil; in the aquatic environment, there is a significant incorporation of tritium in the organically bound form, in the biota and the sediments.
