Abstract

This report represents an update of the Uranium Topical Report written by Maes et al. (2004) and summarizes the current understanding of the uranium geochemistry and transport behaviour under Boom Clay conditions (status 2014). The data and concepts are evaluated against published and generally acknowledged phenomenological models from similar geochemical studies. From this discussion, a phenomenological model is developed that is applicable to describe uranium transport under present-day conditions in Boom Clay at the Mol site.
